Hey everyone! Last night at Optus Stadium was a blast for the Juniper Bowls WA Awards Night 2023-24! The big news? Victoria Park Carlisle winning Small Club of the Year!
With 250 people in attendance, it was a night to remember. Noelene Abe got inducted into the Bowls WA Hall of Fame, and Calvin Rodgers won the first-ever John Ravlich Award for the most outstanding player with a disability. Major props to Bowls WA’s Liz Rolt for 30 years of dedication – what a legend!
Cody Packer and Kristina Krstic stole the show with their record-breaking performances. Matt Mitchell and Linda Warburton also shone bright, taking home the Country Bowler of the Year awards.
But let’s talk about the real stars of the night – Victoria Park Carlisle! Our small club has been making waves and we totally deserved the Small Club of the Year award. Sharing the spotlight with North Perth, both clubs have been on fire and it’s great to see us get the recognition we deserve.
Big congrats to all the other winners too! Cockburn took home Metropolitan Club of the Year, and Pinjarra snagged Country Club of the Year again. Vicki Eva, Chris Tibbits, and Matt Whitely were also celebrated as Official, Coach, and Volunteer of the Year.
And let’s not forget Callum Alberti, our Under-18 player of the year!
Congrats to all the winners for making bowls in WA so exciting. Thanks to Optus Stadium for hosting us in style, and to Juniper for the support. Here’s to another fantastic year of bowls!
